How Cruise Ships Make Towel Animals

by Lifeboat Admin ,

One of the most exciting things about taking a cruise is actually quite simple—the towel animals the staff leaves on the bed when making up your room. There are entire websites dedicated to teaching people how to make the towel animals at home. Here are several of the best:

Make Towel Animals
The Make Towel Animals website provides instructions for making 15 towel designs. In addition to teaching people how to make everything from a simple snake to a more difficult elephant, the website shows how to create a towel shirt and towel cake. Each project is labelled Easy, Medium or Hard. The projects also include a list of materials and directions with detailed and easy-to-follow photos.

The Ultimate Folding Guide
The short guide on this website includes directions for creating a swan, monkey, elephant, crab, mouse and snake. Instead of photos, each towel animal is accompanied by a diagram. There are also bright illustrations.

Unique Ways to Fold a Towel
The Unique Ways to Fold a Towel website explains all of the reasons why you would want to make a towel animal. There are photos of coloured towel animals, such as a dog, crab, pink elephant, regular elephant and swan—even a heart. Clicking on the link connects users to step-by-step instructions with attached photos.

Towel Origami Instructions
The Home Page of the Towel Origami Instruction website displays thumbnail photos of towel animals. Users click on each thumbnail for directions. This website separates towel origami into categories.
- Land animals: Monkey, Elephant, Dog, Rabbit, Snail, Cow, and Person.
- Bird and Water Animals: Kissing swans, Hermit Crab, Walrus, and more.
- Not Animals:  Rose, Pinwheel, Sailboat, Slippers, and more.
